Alex Senior…
Posted on April 30, 2012
This little girl, who is about a foot taller than me, has a special place in my heart. She is my BF Jenn’s daughter. I have lots of memories of her…singing in musicals, hanging out with my Kel, telling ghost stories about boogers at slumber parties. She is all grown up and about to spread her wings and fly from the nest. It happened before we blinked.
Sweet Alex, we love you and wish all the best in the next chapter in your life. God designed you so unique and special and I can’t wait to see how you use the talent he has given you. You know how I love quotes, so here is a little Dr. Seuss…
Congratulations!
Today is your day.
You’re off to Great Places!
You’re off and away!
You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself
any direction you choose.
You’re on your own. And you know what you know.
And YOU are the one who’ll decide where to go.
So be sure when you step.
Step with great care and great tact
and remember that Life’s a Great Balancing Act.
Just never forget to be dexterous and deft.
And never mix up your right foot with your left.
And will you succeed?
Yes! You will indeed!
(98 and ¾ percent guaranteed.)
KID, YOU’LL MOVE MOUNTAINS!
So, be your name Buxbaum or Dowrie or Bass
or Mordecai Ali Van Allen O’Shea,
you’re off to great places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting.
So … get on your way!
Alex has a beautiful voice and has won just about every UIL singing competition she has been in.
I don’t even know the name of this horn, I just know it is big and shiny.
The backstory on the next two shots so that you don’t think this 17 year old is a lush. Jennifer’s Dad, Terry Morris, was an amazing photographer and he passed away several years ago. There are two things that were signature Terry Morris: a bucket hat and a martini glass. If you saw him at a sporting event, he would always have that hat on and if he was at home, he always had a martini in his hand. So, with the next two shots we remember the man who loved a great photo (”great art kid”) and a good drink.
Alex’s boyfriend, Landon. He did the heavy lifting, walked through the tall grass to look for snakes and made sure no creatures were living in this old building. He’s a keeper.
Kaylie Senior Pics…
Posted on April 28, 2012
Kaylie had her senior pics done last week and she has such a natural beauty to her. She picked her clothes and locations to reflect “her” and she did a great job. She was hoping to get her braces off in time for her shoot but her Dr. said no. She has been wearing them for 7 years. Yes, I said seven years! She had the best “it is what it is” attitude about it and I loved that about her. Haylie, you were so much fun and so was your Mom! Thanks for letting me take a new “mantle worthy” photo
Haylee MSU Senior…

Haylee…she is one of those girls who is one of a kind. Crazy, beautiful and genuinely sweet. I love her sense of style, her chunky rings, her fab shoes and the fact that she can wear skinny jeans!! Girl, don’t take that last part for granted
She is about to wrap up college and I can’t wait to see what her next chapter holds. Congratulations Haylee, the sky is the limit!!!
Her sister, Shelby.
Rocking the Carnival…
Posted on April 17, 2012
Ashley and Ronnie Whitfield. I kind of adore this sweet family. If you have read my blog very much you know our story. We met when they had Ezra, I was her L &D nurse and we have been friends ever since. Not just aquaintances, but good friends. The kind of friends you laugh with, get real with, cry with and live life with. I don’t know what I would do without them in my life, all I know is that it would be pretty boring.
Ashley and I were talking about ideas for a shoot for them a few weeks back and I threw out going to the carnival. The very next week it came to town and despite gale force winds we had an amazing shoot. I about died when she got out of the car with her rocking outfit. Red velvet heels?! Ummm…heck yeah! If you ever worry about people staring at you for dressing up for your photo shoot, don’t!!! Look at the amazing results!!!
I told him to say something romantic in her ear. He said “turkey legs”.
Maybe the funniest child I have ever met.
Ashley got some new ink and I love it. Love God. Love People.
Thanks for another off the charts shoot!!! Love you.
Hannah Senior Pics…
Posted on April 12, 2012
These photos make me a little “sniffly”. In my mind, Hannah is still in elementary school having slumber parties with my Kel. I know, I know. I’m one of those people who can’t let kids grow up and throws out the “I remember you when you were this big” way too often. Don’t get me wrong, I love the young lady that Hannah has grown into, I just feel like it happened in 2.5 seconds.
We had a great shoot and the weather was gorgeous!! Hannah had scoped out a field of bluebonnets and a swing and I love the clothes she chose. She had a great combination of color and casual fun clothes and with the locations I think we were able to capture her personality beautifully.
Sweet Hannah…I am so proud of you and can’t wait to hear about all of your adventures in college. I have loved watching you grow up. Enjoy all of the trees!!!
Brynson and Lucas…
Posted on March 28, 2012
Brynson is turning three and Lucas is one. I can hardly believe it, time is flying by. The first time I took Brynson’s pictures he was three months old and now look how big he is. I know you have heard people blog this before, but it is a BLAST to watch kids grow up.
We had a great time and Angela brought some great stuff! I LOVE when people bring props, so if you wonder “would this look good in a photo?” bring it!
Thanks again, Angela and Tony! It’s always great to see you guys. Happy Birthday boys!!!
Bring on the cake! He dove right in…
He wasn’t really sure about it…
But he loved the lid!!!
Jake and Kaleigh Engaged…
Posted on March 15, 2012
My sweet friend Kaleigh is getting married and I couldn’t be more excited for her. The first time Kaleigh introduced me to Jake, I had a feeling that he was the one. Turns out, my feeling was right. We had a beautiful day out on the Waggoner Ranch where Jake works and we had a lot of fun. How can you go wrong with hay, horses and boots?? Congratulations guys! Love you both.
Anthony Cooper is here!!
Posted on March 8, 2012
My last post was anticipitating this little guys arrival and now he is here!! I am so excited to introduce Anthony Cooper! He is absolutely perfect. Check out all of that hair…I had to make it into a faux hawk for a few. Welcome to the world, sweet boy. Congratulations Jinger, Skyler and Avery!
His Grandfather painted his room….adorable!!
The Kowalicks…
Posted on October 31, 2011
I have taken Avery’s pictures several times but this is the first time her parents joined in. Her Dad had some instructions for me…the hat stayed on, he was not going to be doing any of those maternity poses he makes fun of and we had to finish in time for the Ranger’s game. Yes, sir!!
Too bad we didn’t win the whole thing.
I can’t wait for this little guy to get here. Avery is going to be a great big sister. Thanks Jinger and Skyler…love you guys!
This is why you never stop taking pictures with a two year old, you might miss a photo like this.
That face looking at her daddy! I melt.
The Brown Kiddos…
Posted on October 31, 2011
Lindsey and I have tried several times to get a photo shoot done and we finally did it! (Thanks Lindsey for being so understanding!) Lindsey is a photographer so it is humbling that she wanted me to take her families photos. It is obvious her kids love their new baby sister, she is so adorable! Thanks Browns, you did great
